  • Hampden Township Domestic Pet Ordinances

Please be considerate of others  concerning your pets, especially if your dog is a barker.  It’s easy for pet owners to become oblivious to our own dog when they’re barking, but it’s very annoying to others. Thank you!!

    Reminder from Hampden Township:

    DOMESTIC ANIMAL ORDINANCES

Residents are reminded to keep their pets leashed or under their control, to clean up and dispose of their waste, and to prevent them from making noise that disturbs other residents.

Township regulations require residents to control any animal which makes
any noise continuously for a period of 10 minutes or makes such noise intermittently for 30 minutes or more.

Residents are also asked to refrain from leaving food outside for animals, as this practice can attract unwanted vector, such as skunks, possums, etc.

Township regulations require that dogs and cats may not stray off their owner’s property, run at large in the Township, or defile another person’s property. Violation of the regulation may carry a fine of $600 plus costs.
