    From Hampden Township:

Good Hope Road ‘Narrows’ Dangerous Tree Assessment:

In the past month, a PennDOT arborist performed an annual visual inspection of the trees on the embankment and in the floodplain along the ‘narrows’ of Good Hope Road (both in PennDOT’s right-of-way and on private property) to determine if any trees are in need of removal to ensure, as best as possible, the ongoing safety of motorists. Five property owners were notified by PennDOT of the need to have trees removed from their land. Residents are expected to coordinate the timely removal of those designated trees which are in danger of falling or PennDOT will remove them if not acted upon in a timely manner.

Hampden Township Commissioners, and appointees to the Good Hope Road Ad Hoc Committee, have been working with PennDOT officials over the past several years to address various matters along the ‘narrows’ of Good Hope Road. An Ad-Hoc Committee of volunteers who reside in Hampden and who have expertise in traffic planning and design, continue to meet with PennDOT representatives and remain focused on ensuring future improvements are made to this state-owned and maintained road.
