  • From Hampden Township: Storm & Yard Waste Debris

    Storm and Yard Waste Debris

Following the recent storm events, residents are reminded of the following services available to assist with removal of storm related debris.

Curbside collection of yard waste is provided, in a separate truck, by Waste Management on your regular trash day, if bundled and placed by the curb. Each branch should be no longer than six feet and no more than five inches in diameter. Large branches can also be placed at the curbside but must at least be able to be lifted by one individual for loading into the yard waste collection truck. Waste Management has agreed to relax some of the collection requirements for the next two weeks. Please be reasonable with your efforts to clean up as Waste Management attempts to assist the residents during the next two weeks.

Additionally, the Hampden Township Yard Waste Facility is open weekdays from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. The facility will also be open the first and third Saturday of each month from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. In an effort to further assist residents, the yard waste facility will also be open Saturday, July 11 from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. More details about the Yard Waste Facility can be found on the Township website at: https://www.hampdentownship.us/township_services/yard_waste_facility.php The facility is closed on holidays (including holiday weekends) and during inclement weather.

Residents are reminded that trees on their property, which may be damaged due to the storms, are their responsibility to clean up. If a tree falls within the roadway, Township crews will, as soon as possible, clear the roadway by moving the fallen tree back on to the property from which it fell for safe travel and access by emergency responders, as needed.
